There are currently seven books on my bedside table
And two on the floor beside it
But I don’t have any half-finished quilts stashed away
Because I am not a quilter.

I have three crochet projects on the go
Including one I started before the pandemic
But I don’t have any quilting projects on the go
Because I am not a quilter.

I have boxes of notebooks
Full of drafts and starts
None of them typed up
(Again, dating to pre-pandemic)
But I don’t have any boxes of half-finished quilts
Because I am not a quilter.

I am tired of feeling burdened
By my mountains of unfinished projects
And unfinished books.

If I didn’t have half-finished projects
I wouldn’t be a creator.
